Ghostly Image - The Face in The Courthouse Window

The way I've always heard this story was that Henry Wells was being held in the top of the Pickens county courthouse. A mob gathered outside demanding his blood. When he looked out the window at the mob lightning struck and the image of his face appeared in the glass of the window. It was unclear in the tellings I heard if the lightning killed him or if he was killed later on. One thing is certain, there is something strange about the glass of that window pane.
